Video card compatibility with my computer?

Okay, I want to buy a EVGA Geforce 8600gt graphics carde for my pc computer but i don't know if it's compatible or not. The website says that it's PCI and I don't know if my computer has that slot or not. My full system name: Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2. Can my computer use this video card?|||It won't be compatible. it is running an AGP interface slot and the 8600GT is a pcie interface slot. the best agp card You can buy are either a 7600HX for nvidia or a 3850 for ati.

Hope this helps

EDIT: The card is PCI express not PCI, big difference, the card will not work for you sorry. PCI is a much older form of expansion, but they do make cards for those, though none of them work very well, nor will oyu find them anymore.

Your computer has one AGP slot, the long green or blakc one.

It has a couple of PCI slots. they are the not so long stubby white ones.

Hope this helps|||Without specific info on your Computer (mfg/model) no answer is possible. The version of windows op sys you are running is useless info.

Good Luck|||Not enough info. It's the hardware we need. The pc manufacturer name (Dell, HP) and the model number (Dell Dimension 4500).|||OMFG!!!!!111 You are asking if your video card is hardware compatable with your system and you give us your OS specs? Step away...step away from the system.
