What kind of video card is required for this computer?

I'm planning to buy a new video card for my computer. The video card i'm going to buy is G-force GTX295. However, my question is, is it compatible with my PC? I own an acer aspire M5641 and I want to know if there is a way for me to check the video card compatibility.

((More info on my PC can be found here: http://www.pasarit.com/catalog/product_i…|||Your G-force GTX295 card will work on this pc but you need to do a couple of upgrades...

--------------------------------------…

1)Upgrade your power supply unit as it is only 300watts.

The GTX 295 requires a 6-pin, and an 8-pin, PCIE power connector. BFG states the minimum power requirements as a 680W PSU that has a combined 12V current rating of 46A or more because your graphic card is a real "power hungry" type.

2)To fix the graphic card you might have to get new SATA data cables that have one end with a 90 degree plug else the video card can not be seated properly in the pci-e slot

Hope this info was useful.. :)|||GTX 295 is PCI Express 2.0 x16. It will work in a PCI Express x16 slot. It is a long card that doesn't fit in all pc cases.

System Requirements

Minimum Power Supply Requirement: 650 Watt / 8-pin PCI Express connector|||Check card dimensions against your computer to make sure it will fit. Some of these cards are very large and may have clearance problems.

You will need a new power supply as you only have a 300 watt power supply and the recommended from below are 680 to 700 watts MINIMUM with a combines 12 volts rating of 46 to 50 amps MINIMUM.

Per this page:

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gt…

A GeForce GTX 295 requires you to have a 700 Watt power supply unit at minimum if you use it in a high-end system. That power supply needs to have (in total accumulated) at least 50 Amps available on the 12 volts rails.
