Video card compatibility?

I want to build myself a computer so I was having fun looking at the price Dell had to offer when I configured it to share my build's specs. Anyway, I noticed that when I had the OS selected to include an XP downgrade, it said that the video card selected (a GeForce 9800 GT) was not compatible. Is the 9800 GT really not compatible with XP? (Side question: What about Linux?)

PS: When I configured the Dell to have two hard drives of different size, it said that the two HDs must have the same specs. Does that really mean that I can't make a computer with two differently sized hard drives???|||not 100% sure, but i think you probably have a RAID1 (or something like that) selected, thats why you have to have 2 same sized hard drives.

you can have any diffrent sized hard drives in a computer, it doesnt matter. as long as the size is supported.

you can easily find out if the 9800 GT is supported by XP if you go onto Nvidia and try to find 9800 GT drivers for XP.

the 9 series of Nvidia cards (which 9800GT is covered in) is supported by XP and XP64bit, they have drivers for it.|||XP and 9800gt's are compatible.

try getting the latest driver and windows updates

Your bios may be set for RAID go in and disable that. Some were shipped with it enabled just go disable it and you can use your drives normally.|||For answering your Video Card title, the Video Card is completely 100% compatible with XP. Reason I am so confident? Because if they didn't they have just lost 70% of the market. With the Hard Disk Drives, they do not necessarily have to be the same size, one can be used for everyday usage and the other as plain ol` storage.

With Linux of you graphics card, I highly do not suggest Linus with a Nvidia card as the drivers have horrible 2D performance making videos unwatchable.

Suggestion: Build your own computer (without the monitor) and with the same parts you can save yourself $1000.

http://www.newegg.com Gotta love that site.|||all graphics cards r compatible with XP !! all u need r drivers !! the guy whotold u this either didn't hav XP os with them or he wanted more profit out of U !! and yea u wont b able to use dx 10 on xp ! so there is a disadvantage of XP ((( !!!!!!!!!
