Video card compatibility?

I am planning on upgrading from a Radeon HD 5450 to a Radeon HD 6970, but i am not completely sure on compatibility. I am wondering if the new video card will be compatible with my computer.

I have an intel i7 - 2600 processor.

A Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7-B3 motherboard, http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3761#sp.

I am running windows 7 ultimate 64 - bit|||It has PCIe x16 slots. Obviously compatible.

The HD 6970 2GB requires at least a 550w power supply with 34A on the 12v rail.|||It'll fit on your motherboard.

What we really need to know is what PSU you have

Edit: You need a - 550 Watt or greater power supply with one 150W 8-pin PCI Express® power connector and one 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connector recommended

Also the 6990, although a very good card, has a hideously high price/performance ratio. It's not worth the money. a 6950 will outperform that card at half the price.|||Well first that is called a motherboard and yes it is compatible. Just make sure you got enough PSu and it can fit in your case mks?
