Video Card compatibility question?

this

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_8800_gt_us.html

says it uses "PCI-E 2.0"

this

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00361570&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=502102

says i have PCI1, PCI2, and PCI3.

Will they work together?|||no they will not work together....that board your showing only has pci slots...there white and there is 3 of them....you need a pci-e x16 slot(usually black)but depends on the manufactureer...so you need a board like this to run that 8800gt...blue and orange slots are pci-e x16 slots..

gigabyte---http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.…

Scott|||NO it wont work since u have mobo with pci slots and not pci-e slot which 88gt use|||No, you need the EXACT PCI slot.|||No. PCI and PCI-E are not the same thing. You don't even have AGP so you have no upgrade for your Vid.

Mobo and video card compatibility question?

I'm using CPU-Z to scan my PC for my hardware spec, I click on mainboard (this is my mobo right?) and for the Graphic interface it says;

Version:PCI-Express

Does this mean it will support THIS card?

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…

I know it would be better to prolly have PCI-Express 2.0 or whatever but I read using a 2.0 card in a 1.0 system does downgrade the cards quality but not severly, right now I have a 8500 GT so anything is an upgrade.

Thanks!|||This card will work fine. It is not a high end card, so it will not be limited by the fact this is a 1.0 slot.

Computer Video Card Compatibility?

I'm looking forward to buy this : http://www.cel.ro/placi-video/placa-video-asus-geforce-gtx430-1gb-ddr3-128bit-pcie-l/poze

Here is my PC Information. I want to know if it's compilable

Info from My Computer.

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU

E7400 @ 2.80GHz

2.78 GHz, 3.43 GB of Ram

Info from DxDiag Display Menu

NVIDIA GEFORE 210

Manufacter : NVIDIA

Chip Type : 210

Integrated RAMDAC

Aprox total memory : 1024.0 MB

Monitor : Plug and Play|||Took me a while to figure out what the card is at that Romanian web site. There is no GTX430.

It is a GT 430. This is the card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

First pass guess is compatible. As it pulls more power, need your power supply specs, and you should usually give your brand and model of computer when you ask if not a local or home-built

Power + heat dissipation are probably the question, and I was about to look up graphics performance difference expected

http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDI…

Manufacturer's web site

Computer needs to be PCI Express 2.0

The card is windows 7 compatible. correction. looks like ONLY for windows 7

not tested on other operating systems

Did check that Geforce 210 is PCIe 2.0

Did see your link card is 3x performance of the one in your system

Card also should be in a system with 300Watt power supply. I don't know your power.

Found a web site saying graphics chip is WIN XP and Vista compatible, but not sure how much game performance improvement with the CPU you have.

What is your operating system on your PC? Hard to guess it

Do you have PC model number and brand?

Could try to guess upgrade but can use more info from you

Everything says card is compatible if you have sufficient power in your system with the power supply, but game performance may be limited by the CPU. Should still be a big improvement.

If a gaming expert sees this, maybe he can update. I know computer hardware and specifications, but not familiar with game performance.

What kind of video card is required for this computer?

I'm planning to buy a new video card for my computer. The video card i'm going to buy is G-force GTX295. However, my question is, is it compatible with my PC? I own an acer aspire M5641 and I want to know if there is a way for me to check the video card compatibility.

((More info on my PC can be found here: http://www.pasarit.com/catalog/product_i…|||Your G-force GTX295 card will work on this pc but you need to do a couple of upgrades...

--------------------------------------…

1)Upgrade your power supply unit as it is only 300watts.

The GTX 295 requires a 6-pin, and an 8-pin, PCIE power connector. BFG states the minimum power requirements as a 680W PSU that has a combined 12V current rating of 46A or more because your graphic card is a real "power hungry" type.

Read more about this here

=====================

http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardwa…

--------------------------------------…

2)To fix the graphic card you might have to get new SATA data cables that have one end with a 90 degree plug else the video card can not be seated properly in the pci-e slot

Please read the detailed review of your pc here

=====================================

http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/acer-as…

Hope this info was useful.. :)|||GTX 295 is PCI Express 2.0 x16. It will work in a PCI Express x16 slot. It is a long card that doesn't fit in all pc cases.

System Requirements

Minimum Power Supply Requirement: 650 Watt / 8-pin PCI Express connector|||Check card dimensions against your computer to make sure it will fit. Some of these cards are very large and may have clearance problems.

You will need a new power supply as you only have a 300 watt power supply and the recommended from below are 680 to 700 watts MINIMUM with a combines 12 volts rating of 46 to 50 amps MINIMUM.

Per newegg

680W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 46A or more

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Per this page:

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gt…

A GeForce GTX 295 requires you to have a 700 Watt power supply unit at minimum if you use it in a high-end system. That power supply needs to have (in total accumulated) at least 50 Amps available on the 12 volts rails.

Video cards compatibility?

I have decided to buy a new graphics card

I want to know if it is compatible with my CPU gaming speed and monitor.

my CPU is running

Intel (R) Core (TM)2 Duo CPU

1016 MB RAM

DirectX 10.0

monitor display is

1024 x 768

(32 bit) (60 Hz)

Pug and Play monitor

VGA output

Thanks.|||The Graphics card you are looking at has a DVi connection but you can buy an adapter for that for around 5 bucks.

Have you checked to see if your Power Supply Unit is good enough for an upgrade? Use this to find out... http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalcul…

You could also use SIW to check your Computers specs. It's free and excellent to view what you have and might need.

Also check if you can get a GDDR5 as these are the newer models and will save you the next time you upgrade, Best of luck!|||for graphic card u should know what type of slot u have in your mother board ....

Video Card Compatibility.?

what is a good website to check what video cards are compatible with my notebook?

Thank You in Advance! =P|||what Marco P said...|||Your notebook?

You can't upgrade your video card in a laptop. Its integrated into the motherboard. Thats why its a laptop.

Video card compatibility?

Wondering if I can run this graphic card on my pc

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie…

All I know is that my computer is ACPI x86-based Pc.|||Hey man, need to know what kind of computer you have?

There are some specs in the computer we have to know about inorder to give you an exact answer.|||that is not worth $80, man. you only need $20 more. so just be patient. that card wont last long.|||There is not sufficient information about the PC given to determine the compatibility, sorry.|||you might as well have said its a green tower

for all the help that is

open the case or google the manufacturer and see if it supports PCI express video card

if it's old the i'd hazard to say no it will probably be AGP or standard PCI
