Question about video card Compatibility.?

Im looking to buy a new video card and I was wondering if there are more compatibility issues than is it PCIe, or PCI, etc. Like does my motherboard or OS make a difference?|||You need to check your motherboard to make sure you have a PCI-E or PCI slot first. If you don't have the information post the name of your computer for further help. The operating system will not matter for this upgrade. You would obviously want to go with a PCI-E if you have the slot cause that is much newer technology and you would be able to get a much more power video card. Hope this helped.
