On the sims2 website it says the compatible/supported video cards (and the more video memory the better) are the following:
* ATI RadeonTM series (7000 or better)
o Radeon 7000/VE series (non-T&L; requires 2.0 GHz processor)
o 7200, 7500
o 8500, All-In-Wonder 8500
o 9000, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800
o X300, X600, X800
I have a ATI Radeon Xpress Series (0x5A62) but I don't understand if this is okay, is it? Above it says 7000 or better, but I dont have a number after mine, only those number and letters in the brackets.
I need to know quickly because I'm going to buy it today...|||The ATI Radeon Xpress 200M is the chipset that your motherboard is using. It has an integrated X300 graphics core, which is listed in the Sims2 requirements. You will be able to play this game on that system.|||That card should be more than adequite.|||The 200 being way lower doesn't mean it's less powerful. It's a much newer video card, so it should be OK.
But I advise you to do the following:
Take your list of compatibles to the shop, ask them to confirm that the card you want meets or exceeds the requirements of SIMS2 and the list of the supported video cards. That way, it forms part of the deal... if it doesn't work they will have to give you your money back.|||that's only a 1200 I believe. When it comes to high tech games best go get a new one. That one you have is more or less a basic video card. Between video card, processor, and memory, they all play a big role in large games.|||Should work, SIMs is not a high fps game...|||Radeon 7000 is a pretty old graphics card. Your current video card can most likely run it. But dont worry, there are computer stores that can change the video card of your computer if its not enough
