To make the system recognise the new graphics card instead, wait for boot. Then, it should prompt you to enter a key if you want to enter Setup or BIOS or similar. If it does, press the key (usually Del or F2 or F8), go to something similar to Advanced. Look for something like Chipset Configuration or Graphics Configuration and enter it. Then just set it to the card you want, and you're good to go.

However, I would reccomend trying to boot anyway - most BIOSes are set to look at the PCI & PCIe slots before the onboard card.|||Your computer has a PCIe 16X slot so if the card will physically fit into your case it should work.

You can turn off the integrated crap in the computer Bios.|||Your motherboard has a PCI express slot from what I read about it so you should be good to go. I think that is a video chipset you are talking about and it should be on your motherboard. Just make sure to plug your video line into the card after you install it and a high def connection will look better if you can connect it to your monitor that way.|||8400GS models Power Requirements:

Minimum of a 300 Watt power supply.

(minimum +12 Volt current rating of 18 amps)

You computer has a Part #5188-2625 Power supply - 300-watt (Merlot C) regulated. I would check the label on it to see how many +12v amps it is rated at.

You can turn off the integrated video in the computer BIOS.

If you have just installed a new card and are having problems or need to know how to disable the on-board video in the BIOS, please refer to Installing or replacing a video card:
