Video Card Recommendations for The Sims 3?

I need a better video card for gaming....specifically for playing The Sims 3...Read my PC's info and any advice or Video Card Recommendations (that are compatible with my PC would be GREATLY appreciated!!!)

My PC is pretty outdated...

Compaq Presario SR1720NX

However, I recently added 1 GB of RAM so my PC meets all the requirements of The Sims 3 EXCEPT for the video card...the game plays but crashes often since I desperately need to update my video card.

Currently my PC is using ATI Radeon Xpress 200 series (I know, it's bad lol)

I would like to get another ATI Radeon Video Card...but I need some recomendations from people who know a little more about computers than I do....I need a video card that is compatible with my PC of course, but I have no idea how to tell if one is compatible...help please??

(Also I don't want to spend too much...less than $200 would be best...I need best (most decent lol) graphics for cheapest price)

The Sims 3 Requires:

Graphics card with 128 MB with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

Here's a list The Sims 3 Recommends:

ATI Radeon 9500 series, 9600, 9800, X300, X600, X700, X800, X850, X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950, 2400, 2600, 2900, 3450, 3650, 3850, 3870, 4850, 4870, Intel ® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) GMA Series 3 Series 4 GMA.

Based on my PC...video card compatibility....& best $price$ what would you recommend for me??

** if any more info is required for you to know which video card is compatible please let me know and I'll update my question with more details!!!**

** I WILL CHOOSE BEST ANSWER!!!***|||due to your power supply, im going to assume its a 300watt, so that limits many video cards. One video card that will definitely be a giant leap will be the 4350 1GB, its under 50 dollars and it should run fine with a 300 watt.

it wont be able to run everything maxed out probably, but it will run close to high and smoothly :) as long your cpu isnt too lacking or your monitor resolution isnt insane like a 23+inch 1080p monitor.

if you dont mind upgrading your powersupply also since the stock psu are always pretty weak, then id suggest just buy the 4850, makes a huge difference, roughly 7x more powerful than the 4350 and will max out sims 3 even on 1080p monitors easily. you will need a 400watt psu however

4850 is overkill for a game like sims 3 but it will profit you in the long run, as it will last you quite sometime so in the near future if you see a game you like you wont have to upgrade again|||According to Google, that computer has a PCI-Express x16 slot, so just about any newer card would work. I suggest a Radeon HD4670.|||Compaq Presario SR1720NX home PC

Replace power supply to use a HD 4670. HIS card has a good cooling fan.
