Video Card Compatibility?

I am planning on purchasing a gaming computer and have selected the

AMD Phenom™II X4 955 Black Edition Quad-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology

as my CPU. I am still deciding whether the

NVIDIA GeForce GTX285 2GB 16X PCIe Video Card

or the

ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB DDR5 PCI-Express Dual DVI-I & TVO

would best suit my selected CPU. I have come to learn that ATI Radeon's are more compatible with AMD Phenom processors but im still not sure if the nvidia card would be better for my PC.(These brands are random because I am custom building the PC)|||The ATI HD 4890 is quite comparable to the GTX 275. The faster GTX 285 beats the HD 4890 in games like Far Cry and Crysis.

BUT not in games like CoD WaW and Fallout 3:

I find the HD 4890 to be the better bang for your buck because the GTX 285 is expensive.|||get the ati it works best with amd also what motherboard do you have if its an intel get an nvidea card and amd board get the ati card easy?
